First-party measurement: why your ad platform shouldn't grade its own homework
Platform-reported conversions embed the platform's incentives. A first-party measurement spine (your pixels, your data) is the fix.
Ask a platform how it performed and it will tell you: great. Platform-attributed conversions are computed by the party being evaluated, with attribution windows and matching rules chosen to flatter the seller.
The fix is structural, not statistical. Measure with instruments you own. Waveband Signal is that first-party spine: pixels, site tag, identity graph, and reporting that treats every channel on equal footing.
Own the pixels, own the dispute
Impression and click pixels fire on your own tracking domain. A site tag captures on-site behavior and conversions. An identity graph ties them together without forcing you to trust a seller-side match table as the only source of truth.
Delivery disputes become checkable. Platform-reported impressions reconcile against pixel-measured impressions, and gaps surface in reporting instead of hiding in methodology footnotes.

Conversion events you define
Signal does not invent conversion taxonomy for you. You define the events that matter to the client (purchase, lead, signup, custom), then fire them from your site or server paths.
Because the schema is yours, exports stay useful when you change buyers or add channels Waveband did not serve. The measurement history is not trapped inside a single seat's attribution UI.
- Impression and click pixels on your tracking domain
- Site tag for on-site behavior and conversions
- Identity graph that joins exposure to outcomes
- Log-level event export and forwarding to CAPI and GA4
- Multi-touch attribution that treats every channel equally

Reporting that survives a platform change
Waveband reporting can show delivery from the buying seat and outcomes from Signal side by side. That is the point: compare, do not merge incentives into a single vanity number.
When you leave any platform, the measurement history leaves with you. Portability is a product requirement, not a migration project you buy later.

What this changes for agencies
Clients ask harder questions when privacy rules shrink identity. A first-party spine answers with your data, not a seller screenshot. That is how mid-size agencies defend media recommendations without pretending to be a holding-company analytics group.
Signal runs alongside the buying platform rather than inside its incentives. Use it whether you buy only on Waveband or also traffic elsewhere.
Start measuring before you scale spend
Install pixels early. Wait for volume before you argue methodology. The teams that regret measurement most are the ones who launched six figures of CTV with only platform-attested conversions.
Read the tracking docs, wire the site tag, and keep exports in your own warehouse. The seat can change. Your instruments should not have to.
